Elite Baseball Instruction is the vision of Steve Schwartz, a long-time baseball fan, coach and former player. Steve has long believed that the "Great American Pastime", Baseball, has deteriorated at the youth level in its quality of play.
Access and availability to indoor activities such as video gaming, computers, digitized music and numerous other things, have undoubtedly impacted the quality of youth play. "It is not that today's youngsters are disinterested in playing ball, rather, they do not spend the same amount of "time" playing the sport, as that of previous generations to truly become proficient."
Interestingly enough, youth baseball, primarily, organized boys' baseball, has grown ten-fold in the last twenty years and is many times larger in participating members, than its nearest rivals -- Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth Football and Soccer. Knowing that nearly every American nine-year old boy will be signed up for the "Little League" experience, it is both necessary and natural, that a series of instructional baseball learning videos be produced. These instructional videos would encompass the interactive nature of today's technology, and are geared toward parents, coaches and players of every age.
Elite Baseball Instruction is a four-part series, narrated and demonstrated by two former professional players, who now serve as professional baseball instructors -- Joe DeMarco and P.J. McKaig. Joe and P.J. have developed a program of chaptered skill requirements, structured in a step-by-step approach to learning the game. The series includes hands-on demonstrations by both players and instructors on the key components of the game; Hitting, Pitching, Throwing, and both Infield and Outfield play. The learning technology is interactive, self-contained on the 4 DVDs, allowing both the player-student and his parent or home instructor to stop, repeat or freeze the action at any time. The actual production was filmed using the latest in digital equipment, editing and special effects and the quality of production rivals that of any major broadcast television production.
